Just Say #Yes

My first ever blog post. Feels like kind of a big deal! I thought you might like a little bit of background about my book, Just Say #Yes.
I’ve been asked about how I came up with the idea for the story, so here goes.
It all started with a conversation with my son. He was fourteen at the time and I was worried about the fact that, apart from school, he didn’t really do anything else apart from read. I was trying to get him to do, well, anything!
So we had a chat about how he should say ‘yes’ to things. To be honest, I don’t think he listened, he was just humouring me. Although he did start playing indoor soccer with his mates that year, so who knows. Maybe something sank in.
But it led me to thinking, dreaming, of having a daughter who would actually listen. What if I challenged her to say yes to things? What if she actually did it?
And so the story began, although Cassie is a lot different to my son! (Just so you know, I didn’t traumatise him too badly. He’s now finished school and very well adjusted. How time flies!).
I love Cassie and Jack’s story and I hope you do too. I’ve had some great feedback, and thank everyone who’s left a review or a star rating from the bottom of my heart. I read every comment and appreciate it so much.
And in case you’re wondering, yes, there is another book coming. It’s called Not Quite #Perfect and I’m just putting the finishing touches on it now. I’ll be putting it up for pre-order shortly and doing a cover reveal and all those fun things!
